Dear MyAppIdea Community,

The community have spoken and we have the 7^th Hall of Fame winner – Congratulations mattman110 for iPresent app idea. Simple enough but useful for sure.

Let’s welcome iPresent to Hall of Fame. This was a very popular competition with more than 225 ideas on the board with 135 just in last 15 days.

What are we on? This week we got the version 1.1 of Cash Register approved solving minor UI issue and users feedback and the app is now on the iTunes store. Another app is in the works. Test out http://bit.ly/CashRegister and http://bit.ly/YouDecide

And what’s next? We will go through a heavy purge of app ideas tonight to prepare MyAppIdea platform for a special competition that kicks off this week. We are retaining only those ideas that are less than two weeks old and have also received high number of votes. We will share with you once this special competition kicks off. Also stay tuned for next Hall of Fame competition announcement later in February.

We have a winner. Congratulations JJL! The community has voted your ‘Panic Button’ app idea to ‘Hall of Fame’. While certainly not the most innovative idea (there are several apps on the same concept in iTunes store), but given the fact that our users have given it highest differential of ‘up’ vs. ‘down’ votes validates the utility of such an idea to become an app. We will have to find creative ways to come up with an app that stands out in the crowd of apps.

We have a winner – our fifth Hall of Fame Winner!

Congratulations Kewlkid999 for ‘The Community App Review’. It’s interesting that MyAppIdeaTeam considered this to be the #1 App with a business potential as well for this round (provided of course it does not conflict with iTunes Store’s policies)

Last couple of weeks have been challenging as our server side upgrade
did not go as planned. It was like trying to work on a moving
train and it did cause excessive drop outs, long wait times and many
crashes.

It did make some of you upset and we may not see you again but we will
try to win you back for our vision and goal remain consistent – we want the best app ideas to come from app users community. And we want developers (and ourselves) to develop those apps!

The upgrade challenges also brought together a number of our loyal users who regularly kept in touch with us during this period to enquire for the health of the app. We thank you for staying with us.

We are glad to share that the server side performance has improved if
not 100% yet. We do want you to re-test the app with your ideas and provide us feedback. As always all the ideas that are more than 45 days old will be purged but you can refresh them and re-enter. Do let us know if you face further
issues.

The third upgrade is already scheduled. We are working on the initial apps and hope to place it your hands soon. MyAppIdea is also working on a collaboration with an education institution for a campus app idea competition and it is exciting to work on co-creating the rules. With MyAppIdea in your hands, iTunes store will never be the same again.

Dear MyAppIdea Community,
We are back after a short hiatus and we are so glad that you have kept the board moving.

Well it was not a hibernation after all but we were working behind the scenes. The good news – We have queued up the first series of apps for development.  The first Hall of Fame idea is in development stage!

We are also actively collaborating with a college for taking MyAppIdea concept in the campus for open-sourcing ideas. If you want to run one within your work place or how about an inter-college competition – Let’s do it for you.

The 4th Hall of Fame was the best ever and you helped create new records on every metric – the most ideas, most votes and most users. The 5th Hall of Fame is shaping up to be an interesting competition with previous HOF winners back. We already see few gems and do wish if there was an App to build Apps but only if wishes were horses!

Congratulations ‘Merlin’s Touch’ for ‘The Milk Carton’ idea! Persistence pays off!!!

Our first Hall of Fame competition participants would remember that the emotional appeal of ‘The Milk Carton’ kept it amongst Top 5 in the Leader Board for several days. The idea was subsequently purged but ‘Merlin’s Touch’ re-entered it and you have voted it to be the ‘Hall of Fame’ winner.

This competition round broke all previous records -
1. There were over 150 brand new ideas and all together 325 ideas in this competition!

3. This round saw highest number of downloads!

Dear MyAppIdea Community,
We are off to an unbelievable start for our 4th Hall of Fame competition. Thanks to you – the ideas just keep coming. We are already close to our 100th new idea since we kicked off on 1 Sept and there are 300+ ideas in the play!!!

‘Questions and Answers’ maintains the leadership – Are we going to see a consecutive win by Cameroon? Who knows…the famous ‘Milk Carton’ and ‘Ant Farm’ by Merlin’s Touch are back and they have gone up the leader-board very fast. There are couple of gems we have noticed in this round – thanks to our newest members – ‘Noise Minimizer’ – WoW! There are others which truly intrigue us – ‘drop 3 sizes’!!! Would love to hear from you.

We are also in active touch with our Hall of Fame winners who are helping us spec their ideas – and we are listening to them after all they are (and will be) the owners of the idea! Reach out (as several of you have already done) if you want to work on your ideas with us – enquiry@regenus.com.

Dear MyAppIdea Community,
We had a hugely successful 3rd Hall of Fame competition and we are now all set for the 4th round that will close on midnight GMT on 15 September 2009.

After refreshing the list (purging all ideas submitted prior to 31 July 2009) we already have nearly 200 ideas in the play for this round and with new ideas coming from you everyday we hope to set yet another record. As always we encourage you to refresh and resubmit the ideas (Some active members have already started doing that). With the community growth we do want the ideas to presented again. You never know…

Few significant things that we would like share with you:
1. Our community has registered 500 app ideas since the launch of the MyAppIdea.

2. We have contacted the ‘Hall of Fame’ idea providers and several other idea providers interested in developing their apps to develop specs and a business case.

3. We have launched a campaign to put MyAppIdea on social networking scene. The app has already been rated highly on several sites. One Hall of Fame idea provider was recognized in his community newsletter. MyAppIdea is on Twitter, on Facebook and on LinkedIn (we will share the links in next newsletter). We also want to thank our supporters who have rated it high on the iTunes store.

4. With your continued support MyAppIdea hopes to register it’s best week ever! That means your ideas are being noticed by more and more folks!

Cameroon’s ‘iForum’ – An app in which the users have access to forums in which different books, authors, games, artists, albums etc are discussed users can start threads or add to discussions. There would be a search option to find different threads, and a chart for most popular Threads in different categories.

dben’s Reward – Instead of carrying 100’s of membership cards, reward cards, shopping reward cards in your pocket or worst! Forget them at home!! instead you have an app in your iphone that display a bar code with each club, shops, etc… that shop and sports club can scan on your iPhone.how? Easy, simply enter the name of the club or shop, input the code corresponding to your bar code in your membership, it will automatically count your rewards or points and add the total for you so you will know with a quick look “how far to go to get the rewards or points” or ” how many hours left at the gym ” etc…At The end we will save the planet by being paperless and no More plastic either (cards). to be continued …
